Sadistic parents who forced their eight year old daughter to jump on a trampoline in sweltering heat until she died have been jailed.

Daniel Schwarz, 49, admitted to manslaughter over the death of his adopted daughter Jaylin, in Odessa, Texas, and received an 18-year prison sentence.

His wife Ashley Schwarz was convicted of capital murder on May 1, 2023, and handed three life sentences. The couple were the legal guardians of the 8 year old at the time of her tragic death on August 29, 2020.

Odessa Police were called to a medical emergency and discovered Jaylin Schwarz dead at the scene.

The sadistic Schwarzes had subjected her to cruel punishments, including denying her breakfast and water and making her jump on a trampoline non-stop.

The post-mortem examination revealed that Jaylin died from dehydration after being forced to jump on the trampoline in 43C heat, and her death was ruled a homicide. "Investigators later found out that Daniel and his wife, Ashley, had made their daughter jump on a trampoline for a prolonged period without food or water as a form of punishment," stated the Ector County District Attorney.

"The trampoline's surface temperature was around 110 degrees at the time. This outcome is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our prosecutors and the Odessa Police Department in seeking justice."

Heart-wrenching statements from the family depicted a chilling image during Schwarz's trial, revealing that he remained emotionless even at his daughter's funeral. The court heard harrowing testimony from Jaylin's siblings, who claimed it was routine for them to be subjected to hours on the trampoline as a form of punishment.

The tragedy of Jaylin and her sister Jade began when they were placed in the custody of the Schwarz couple following their biological mother, Alysha Anderton's, loss of custody due to struggles with addiction. In 2020, a grief-stricken Alysha opened up to KOSA news about the heartbreak she endured.

She said: "What upsets me the most is that I never got to see her alive again. When they took them, I never got to say goodbye."

Alysha conveyed the sheer pain of only seeing Jaylin again in a coffin after living with the Schwarzes for four years since losing her parental rights, reports the Mirror. "That's not fair to me. There's not a day that goes by that I don't totally break down," Alysha expressed, voicing her profound agony.
